Binance ships Binance AI free tier to all English users after 150k-user beta

The free generative-UI layer went global on October 12 following a September 7 beta; Binance AI Pro and Agent OS remain behind separate rollouts.

Binance opened its generative-UI layer, Binance AI, to all English-language users on October 12, closing a 35-day closed beta that a company spokesperson told The Block covered about 150,000 users and began September 7. The Block's writeup is the primary disclosure; the rollout plugs into the three-part "Binance Intelligence" stack the exchange unveiled on October 5 in Abu Dhabi.

What shipped

  • Product: Binance AI, the free tier of the suite.
  • Scope today: Global English-language users on binance.com. Support for other languages is still rolling out, per the company's statement.
  • Beta: ~150,000 users since September 7.
  • Features Binance named in the launch materials:
    • AI-generated portfolio-performance summaries.
    • Analysis of top-moving assets in a "For You" surface.
    • Voice alerts.
    • On-demand market briefings, delivered as text or audio.

Jeff Li, Binance's VP of Product, is quoted in the launch materials: "Markets are becoming more complex, but the tools to understand them should become easier to use." Co-CEO Richard Teng framed the pitch more broadly: "Blockchain is giving everyone access to markets; AI gives everyone the knowledge to navigate them."

Where it sits in the three-part stack

The free Binance AI is layer one of three announced on October 5:

  1. Binance AI — free. Market briefings, portfolio summaries, voice alerts. Rolled out today.
  2. Binance AI Pro — paid trading agent that turns plain-language ideas into strategies. Enters a freemium format in the second half of October. One outlet reports a beta price of $9.99 against a listed regular of $29.99 per month; Binance has not published the final price card.
  3. Binance Agent OS — developer-facing agent framework. Binance said it has been handling about 280,000 daily calls since its August launch.

Who this touches

The free tier reaches Binance's retail base at zero cost, which is the lever that moves usage numbers. The paid tier (Pro) is the one that handles order placement rather than information, and that is where the regulatory surface — natural-language order generation, agent-authored strategies, custody of API keys — gets interesting. Pro is not live globally today.

Agent OS is the developer story and is the piece builders will care about. 280,000 daily agent calls in two months is a public figure; the composition (first-party vs third-party, read-only vs trading) is not disclosed and is the number worth watching next.

What to watch

  1. Pro rollout date and the final price card. Teng said the second half of October; a specific launch day has not been given.
  2. Order-execution surface for Pro. Whether the agent will place trades via the existing REST/WebSocket API, how key scoping is handled, and whether delegated authority to the agent is scoped by product.
  3. Jurisdictions and compliance. Binance has pulled or restructured services in multiple jurisdictions over the past 18 months (France, Spain, Greece). Confirmation that the AI products are available there — and under which legal entity — is still pending.
  4. Agent OS tool catalog. Which Binance primitives (orders, Earn, Convert, derivatives) are callable from third-party agents, and how spending is rate-limited.

Context

Binance is the second major centralised exchange to publicly ship a generative-UI layer this quarter, and the first to put a free tier in front of its full retail base. The company's October 5 launch and today's rollout cluster around a broader pattern: exchanges exposing agent-callable APIs are treating LLM frontends as a new acquisition surface, with the paid tiers positioned where real execution risk sits. The regulatory question Binance will have to answer product-by-product is the same one brokerages faced with robo-advisors a decade ago: who is the fiduciary when the agent places the order.
